The cook book is nearly done!
What a dreadful fiasco it has been – who would have thought that jotting down a few recipes would take so long? Not me, but sadly it does. We have spent hours and hours faffing over the book and trying to make it look all lovely as well as make some sort of sense – not easy when the people writing the things down are me and Pinky, with poor Perky trying to edit the nonsense that we write!
Of course, if we were organised it would never have taken so long – but we are the least organised team on the planet it appears! The few recipes that we did write down are in terrible handwriting in a splattered notebook which has shockingly faded the writing so badly it is almost intelligible. The rest of the recipes are in our heads – and believe me, not easy to get out – we must have some sort of information processing problem going on or just be totally daft. Whichever it is, it is not conducive to writing a recipe book because said book needs recipes!
All in all it has been a little bit bothersome – not least because we just can’t help being a little bit naughty. We tried, we really did. Honestly. Some bits of it are passable, they really are, others however are slightly risky and some are just total smut…
We have written a bit of a disclaimer in the front to counteract anyone buying it for their Great Aunt Hilda or little ones. This would be bad. Very very bad. There has been some deletes today – the Blackcurrant Boner Builder being one of them, but it is still not for the faint hearted.
Oh well – we believe our audience is to be women with children, trying to keep it all together and remain sane whilst chaos ensues around them and they will see the humour. The perfectly perfect of this world, who have pristine children with unsnotty noses, perfectly kept houses holding smiling husbands best leave well alone and stick with Nigella!
Monday is D Day – the final day of editing – it will be a long one so Perky says – Pinky and I think that is because she thinks our spelling and grammar is really rather shoddy…oh well at least there are recipes it could be worse…
